Today was Swim Safe Day at Coop's lesson. I remember this day from when Coop and I were taking lessons at the Y. We donned life jackets and played around in the water. Well, it was much cooler here.
When the kids arrived, there were no raised platforms in the pool as usual. They had to sit on the side and listen to a story the teacher read. Then they all jumped on a "boat" and had to kick to the "beach." The pool is a Zero Entry pool so it gets super shallow. Then, as they were kicking to the shore, the waves began! I didn't even know this pool had a wave maker. Once on shore, they played in the waves and bit and even "swam" in them. Then they boarded the "boat" and headed back to where they started. Then they each got to play lifeguard and pull a "struggling" classmate to safety using a noodle. Cooper got out of the pool with the BIGGEST smile on his face. He was so happy and had so much fun. I had a big smile too because it LOOKED like so much fun. Poor Tucker just kept saying, "Water. Water. Pool." He wanted to go in so badly.

That is truly an amazing class. Lucky Cooper!
ReplyDeleteCool pool! Course with my little one the waves would have REALLY been the end of that experience! Not that we would have been the pool anyway...
