Another pretty mellow day down under. We started the day with a bus ride to the boy's new doctor. While researching doctors here, I learned that they do not have pediatricians the same way we do in the US. They have GPs who have a specialty in pediatrics or pediatrician who have a very specialized area of peds (ie oncology or dermatology). So we found a nice GP who specializes in kids. She was very nice, attentive and knowledgable. She was very "up" on asthma which is great when dealing with Tuck. She gave us all new scrips for the medicines we need and explained healthcare here a bit. Good news is that we can now officially ditch the nebulizer and do all inhalers- couldn't do that back home. Only parents who have to use that thing regularly really understand how exciting this is for us. Too bad we had to buy a brand new one last week when the other died. Oh, well that is what insurance is for- right? Tuck was also fortunate enough to get a flu shot. Since the seasons are different here, the flu shot he got in WA is not good here. Poor kid. Cooper hid under the chair while Tuck got poked.
We finally got Tucker in the pool today AND he actually enjoyed it. He is not really a fan of water on his head- totally unlike Cooper as this age. It must be his mom's fault for not taking him to swim lessons beginning at 6 months- jeez what a terrible mom... :) It was so fun to see him smiling and splashing in the water.
There was a full moon tonight. It was an incredible sight out of our apartment window. Quite breathtaking actually. We tried to get a picture, but it did not work so you will just have to imagine clear, nighttime skies, a full, bright moon and city lights stretching all the way to the water. A perfect way to end the day.
