Kindergym

This morning we had a leisurely walk to the YMCA. The morning was gorgeous- blue skies with fluffy white clouds, warm temperatures and promises of a good day ahead.  We changed Coop into his swim suit and dropped him at his lesson (yes, I don't have to stay!).  Then Tucker and I headed to the gym where he was to attend his first "Kindergym" class. For you Tacoma folks- just like Toddler Gym minus the singing.  It turned out we were the only ones who showed up for the first class (many families are still on spring break) and Tucker had the whole set up to himself!  Needless to say he was in heaven. There were things to jump on, climb on, slide down, go thru and even to ride on.  His favourite seemed to be the balls and the hula hoops. He was not quite sure what to do with the hula hoops, but he had fun carrying them around and rearranging them.  They had some squishy dolphins hanging on the bars and he spent a good deal of time playing with them. He loved being pulled around on the scooter and even tried pulling it around himself. He just couldn't make the ball stay on while he pulled though....

Wonders Never Cease

Today was the last day of the "term" for swim lessons.  As we were walking into the Y for class, we were told that there was a demo class called, "Kindergym" going on this morning.  We hurried Coop off to his lesson and Tucker and I headed over to the 18 mo to 3 year old class.  At first Tuck was really shy, but then he jumped right in. He loved climbing and swinging. Then he found some instruments and he was in heaven!  As he was playing, I began chatting with another mom. As she talked, I noticed that she was not Australian.  I asked her where she was from and she said originally California, but that they had just moved from, dah-dah-dah-dah! Seattle!  I told her that we were too and we were off talking about this and about that.  It was so nice to not only chat with another American, but one from the PNW!! One of the first things we talked about was Target, of course. She has discovered in her short time here (only 1 week) that Target here is not really Target. I quickly informed her that KMART was the place to go for cheap.  She then told me of her trip to the new Costco that opened here recently. It is amazing how two people can come together over shopping. :)  So a new friendship is in the works down here and I am so happy for it!
