The boys and I went to the opening festivities for NAIDOC Week on Monday morning. There was music, dancing, food and some activities for kids. We watched a bit of the dancing, but spent most of our time in the kid's zone. The boys got to do some "coloring in" pages and heard a man talk about and play the didgeridoo. The boys enjoyed the event. Tucker spent most of his time trying to run away from me (ugh), but did spend a little coloring as well. Coop loved it all! He is so interested in the Aboriginals after learning about them as school. He ate up every word that was said and shared it all with Doug when we got home.
Coop and I made our own didgeridoos that same afternoon. We have such a nice time painting and discussing all the symbols we added to our instruments. He can actually "play" it and make a sound that is very much like the real thing. He is planning a party for his friends from school to come over and hear him play the didgeridoo and Tucker will "announce in his own way."
Too funny!
