Today was a Mufti Day at Coop's school. I had no idea because the little reminder note was buried in the bottom of Coop's backpack. I only found out when we arrived at school and Coop was one of the few kids wearing his school uniform. I gathered that something different was going on so I asked the student teacher in Coop's class why the kids were not their wearing uniforms today. She replied, "It is a Mufti Day." I must of had a completely blank look on my face because she continued on and said that it is a day where the kids and teachers come to school in casual dress and, in return, they are asked to pay a small fee (a gold coin which is $1 or $2). I guess in the US we call this "Casual Friday" (minus the money part). So today was a non-uniform fundraising day. Got it now. I will be prepared for the next one...I hope.
