This morning we went to see the Lion Dance at the Chinese Garden of Friendship. It was raining a bit when we left, but while we were waiting for it to begin there was literally a torrential downpour. We were soaked waiting. When we finally gave up and were going to head home, we saw the dancers and decided to stick it out. So glad we did. The dance was, once again, fantastic and had a few different elements. One was the lion picked up a scroll with its mouth and when it unfolded it said, "Happy New Year." There were also a few firecrackers at the end that sprayed out colorful ribbons. Coop collected most of them at the end and brought them home.
