David Jones' Christmas Concert

I guess the Christmas season is just starting up back home as it is here.  Some of the  major department stores have their Christmas windows up, decorations are springing up all over town, but the music of the season hasn't hit yet. David Jones, a major department store here, kicked off the holiday season today with a Christmas concert for children.  I had planned to take both the boys to the concert, but Coop had to stay home because he was sick, but Tuck and I went anyway.

Look at the beautiful blue sky!

Today was an absolutely gorgeous day. The skies were perfectly blue with a few small clouds and the temperature got up to about 82 degrees.  Tucker and I covered ourselves in sunscreen and headed to Hyde Park where the concert was being held.  When we arrived the volunteers were handing out paper sunhats and sunscreen.  That was new!  They were also selling reindeer antlers complete with jingle bells. Thankfully, Tucker did not notice them so we didn't even have to think about purchasing a pair!
We found a seat and the show began a few minutes later. The first "act" was the Smurfs.  Tucker was not happy at all with the Smurfs. He kept trying to leave!  I managed to keep his interest until the Smurfs were done with a treat because I knew what was coming next would keep him there.

The Smurfs finished their bit and next up was Dora the Explorer, Now, Tucker has seen Dora in bits and pieces. I am pretty sure he has never seen a whole show because Cooper does not like it.  I knew he recognised her, but really did not think he was passionate about her. Well, I was certainly wrong.  Once they announced that Dora was up next, Tucker could not stand still. He kept pointing to the stage saying, "Door! Door!" (Door means Dora if you are wondering).  Finally, she and her trusty companion, Boots, came on stage. Tucker was absolutely speechless.  He just stared at the stage.  Then, at one point, he turned to me, pointed to the stage and said, "Door!" From then on he was hooked.

"Door!"

Santa arrived on board Thomas the Tank.  Tuck did not really seem to care about Thomas or Santa, he only had eyes for Dora... and still does. :)
