Sydney Fishmarket

Today's out was to the Sydney Fishmarket.  It was not exactly what I had envisioned, but now I can say I was there and can go back if I ever need to.  Pretty sure that is not going to be necessary.  Anyway, the market is the biggest fish market in the southern hemisphere and the second biggest in the world when it comes to variety next to one in Japan. They did have a ton of fish and many, many kinds I have never heard of or seen in my life. After living in the Seattle area for so long and visiting Pike Place market, it was strange not to see the usuals- Dungeness Crab, salmon, halibut etc.  I really was craving a big bowl of clam chowder, but that is not something they do here.  As usual, Tucker slept through the whole adventure and Cooper spent most of the time telling me how smelly it was.  He did claim to see the "pout-pout" fish on one stand (a book shared with us by our friends the Cuttings). Kind of sad to think of the pout-pout fish on the chopping block.  Guess that would give him something to really pout about, huh?  Below are a few pics of the seafoods they had at the market and of the market itself.

  2. Please reassure your son that the fish he saw was not The Pout-Pout Fish! Mr. Fish is alive and well, and contemplating his next adventure. :)

Best Fishes to you and your family!
