A Blog of Randoms

My mom sent another package and this time, aside from the Goldfish crackers and the peanut m&ms, there was a gift for the boys-- fire  boots.  As we left for Australia several months ago I neglected to bring along the boys' rainboots.  Thank goodness for my mom for ordering up two pairs of the cutest fireboots ever.  The boys LOVE them in completely different ways.  Tucker mostly likes to carry them around, put things in them and drive cars and trucks around them. Putting them on his feet- no interest at all after the first time.  Cooper, on the other hand, donned his fire hat and the boots and immediately got to playing fire brigade (that is Australian for firemen).  He also looked at me and said, "Mom, now I just need a fire shirt." I am so mad that I left the fire raincoat at home in Tacoma.  I could just see Cooper walking around Sydney with the hat, the boots and the coat.  He would be a huge hit!

Yesterday was the Queen's Birthday. No much happening around town. Everyone was off work and school and the streets were pretty quiet. Not really sure I understand the holiday, but a day off is a day off, right?

This is a picture of the oldest synagogue in Sydney.  Just thought I would add a little
Australian architecture to my blog.  :)  It is a beautiful building and we happen to be right across the street waiting for the bus, so I snapped a picture.

Okay, this is cool.  This is the pool at the Bondi Iceberg Club.  Basically this pool is filled by the ocean tides!  You can watch the waves crashing into the pool. It is quite beautiful.
Apparently quite chilly as well.

Today we ate these beautiful cupcakes. Unfortunately, they did not taste nearly as good as they looked. From top- ice cream sundae, cookies and cream and vanilla.

The last random thing- my new favorite drink. I am sure they have this in the US, but I never had it and now, it is the only soda I will drink. It is not easy to find, but I now have a "supplier" and am set for a while.  Crazy expensive-- $2.00-$2.50 a can, but hey, that is still cheaper than Starbucks!

  1. Cupcakes in Australia are terrible and dry and yucky. I am sooo making you our chocolate zucchini cupcakes, they are famous. Wow, so much for not overselling. I clearly need to work on managing expectations. haha
