Another Beach Day April 17, 2011

The Opera House from the ferry dock

The Sydney Harbour Bridge from the ferry dock

We headed to the beach again today so the boys could dig! Digging is a favorite pastime for Coop. We took the ferry to Manly. It was a little cloudy as we headed out, but the views were still great.  You can see the Opera House above and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The yellow and green boat you see is the ferry we took to Manly.

Manly Beach

Manly is on the Tasman Sea.  Cooper has an Aunt Tasmyn.  When asked the name of the ocean by the beach he says, "It is the Aunt Tasmyn Sea!"

Once we got to Manly (about a 30 min. ferry ride) and had some lunch,  the weather had cleared and we headed to the beach. It was hopping! There were tons of people there swimming, surfing, playing beach volleyball and of course sunbathing.  Doug and Tucker took a long walk along the beach while Cooper and I made a sandcastle.  We stayed about an hour and then headed back to Sydney.

Along the way Coop got a new pair of beach shoes. He is very proud of them and insisted on taking a picture of them "so we will always remember them." Here they are!

Oh yeah, he refused to wear them....
