We had a wonderful afternoon/evening at Bronte and Tamarama Beaches. We took the bus to the beach where we spend a little time digging in the sand and searching for sea shells while we waited for our friends to arrive. The waves were enormous! Apparently very dangerous as well although with the number of surfers out there you would never have known. The water was six different shades of blues and simply gorgeous.
If you look towards the back of the photo below, you can see the swimming pool which is fed by the ocean. You can see the excess water spilling from the pool in the photo.
Every year at this time the city sponsors, Sculptures by the Sea, which takes place on several beaches along the coast. We were able to see quite a few of the sculptures at Tamarama Beach. Here are some of the sculptures we saw:
This was most definitely the favorite of the kids. The artist had transformed street signs into rakes and hoes and people were invited to use them to make artwork in the sand. Cooper and Tucker spent a quite a bit of time raking, digging and smoothing the sand.
Below is the rock walls around Tamarama Beach- they are so cool- they look like wood!
Here is Tucker walking in some gardens.
